Color Guide
Color Guide
Color plays an important role in every wedding, celebration and special occasion. Use this guide to understand some of our most popular Geranium shades and how fabric, lighting and screen settings may affect the way a color appears.
Available colors vary by dress. Please always check the individual product page for the colors offered for a specific style.
Geranium Core Color Palette
Below are several of our core bridal and occasion shades. Not every dress is available in every color, and some fabrics may have their own individual shade range.
White, Ivory or Champagne?
Bridal whites can look similar online, but each creates a different overall effect when used across lace, tulle, satin and lining fabrics.
White
A clean, bright white with a crisp appearance. White may appear especially bright on smooth satin or under strong natural lighting.
Ivory
A softer warm white. Ivory is one of the most popular bridal shades and often gives lace, tulle and appliqué details a softer appearance.
Champagne
A warmer beige-gold bridal tone. Champagne is often used as a lining or base color beneath ivory lace or tulle to create more depth and contrast.
Why the Same Color Can Look Different on Different Fabrics
Color is influenced by the surface, transparency and light reflection of the fabric. Two fabrics using a similar dye shade may therefore not look completely identical.
Satin
Satin reflects light and may look brighter, deeper or slightly different depending on the angle and lighting.
Chiffon
Chiffon is lightweight and semi-sheer. Layering can make the final color appear softer or deeper than a single layer.
Tulle
Tulle is transparent and often layered over another fabric. The lining beneath it can significantly influence the final visible color.
Lace & Appliqué
Lace, embroidery and appliqués may absorb or reflect color differently from the base fabric, especially when layered over contrasting lining.
Velvet
Velvet changes appearance depending on the direction of the pile and light, which may make the same color appear lighter or darker.
Sequins & Glitter Fabrics
Reflective surfaces can create substantial changes in appearance under indoor lighting, sunlight and photography.
Screen Color vs. Actual Fabric
Colors displayed on phones, tablets and computer screens cannot reproduce fabric colors with complete accuracy.
Screen brightness, display technology, color settings and ambient lighting can all change how a color appears.
Product photography may also be affected by studio lighting, photography equipment and post-processing.
For this reason, slight color differences between the website display and the actual fabric should be expected.
Ordering Multiple Dresses in the Same Color
For bridesmaid groups, junior bridesmaids, flower girls or other coordinated wedding-party dresses, we recommend planning your color selection before placing multiple orders.
- Whenever possible, order dresses for the same event at the same time.
- Use the same listed color name for all dresses intended to coordinate.
- Remember that chiffon, satin, tulle and lace can reflect the same color differently.
- If different dress styles use different fabrics, expect a small visual difference even when the listed color is the same.
- For a large bridal party or an exact color requirement, contact us before ordering.
